How to Create and Save YouTube Playlists

With over 1 billion users and 300 hours of video uploaded every minute, there’s no shortage of YouTube content to be found. From international pop stars like Taylor Swift who reported earnings of over $170 million on the platform to local bar musicians trying to carve out their niche, YouTube is a virtual music store with everything from top hits to obscure indie gems. YouTube has also become an invaluable tool for content creators to build a following, promote their brand and products, or just entertain and educate their audience.

One of the most useful features on YouTube is the ability to create and save playlists. These collections of videos are accessible on the My Videos & Playlists page of your account. Creating a playlist allows you to consolidate your favorite videos on a particular topic in one place, and is an excellent way to share your content with others. It’s important to name your playlists clearly so that viewers know what type of content is contained within them.

Adding a video to your Favorites list is simple. When watching a video on YouTube, you’ll see an icon with a heart above it that looks like this: You can select this button to save the video to your Favorites list. By default, this will be a private playlist, meaning only you can see it. You can change this by clicking the “Edit playlist” button and selecting either Public, Private, or Unlisted.

If you have access to more than one channel on your YouTube account, you’ll need to select the account associated with the channel that you want to add a playlist to. This will ensure that the playlist is viewed on the correct channel.

Once you’ve selected the channel where the playlist should be added, you can begin adding videos to it. You can also change the order of the videos by dragging and dropping them into different spots in the list. When you’re finished, click the “Save” button to confirm your changes.

When a video is saved to your youtube favorites list, you can access it anytime by opening the My Videos & Playlists page on your account. From there, you can also choose to view all of your saved videos in a separate list called “All videos.”

Another option for creating a playlist is to use the built-in YouTube Trends feature. This is a great way to find popular videos on your channel or those of your competitors. By reviewing the trending topics, you can get ideas for what your audience is interested in and create content that is more likely to be seen.

The last thing to keep in mind when creating a playlist is that the privacy of the list may be affected if you change your YouTube account settings. For example, if you are using your personal account and switch to a business or brand account, your playlists will no longer be visible to your audience.
